True Nature Counseling Center
Nick Keomahavong, Marriage and Family Therapist #92634
It is my mission to help you find stability through the use of psychotherapy, with the overall goal to assist you in reconnecting with your inner self to become balanced and whole.
I believe that you all have the tools needed within yourself to live a fulfilled life. I help you access these tools by teaching you how to fully be in the present moment and make the "unconscious" conscious. With this new awareness, you will learn how to find, reconnect, and trust your inner self. You will learn how to surrender, listen, and trust the "little voice" or built in North Star that guides you along your journey- this is also known as the gut instinct.
I provide Psychotherapy based on the belief that internal struggles and conflict show up in our lives as gifts. During the session, you will gain insight into current internal and external conflict, identify parts of yourselves that have been neglected, and incorporate these neglected and feared parts into your "new" self on your way to becoming "whole." I work in partnership with you to find your authentic self and to live a life in alignment. My definition of alignment is that one's intention matches one's action. I believe that therapy provides healing and instills new hope.
My style of therapy is a mix of Eastern and Western philosophies focused on helping you realize that you are the master of your life. I use a directive style to help you identify and replace negative behavioral/thought patterns. I work alongside you to find solutions to current issues. Along the way, you will gain strength mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. My therapeutic style is eclectic, meaning that I draw from different therapeutic modalities, but with a strong emphasis in Gestalt Therapy utilizing "here and now" experiences.
I have special interest working with:
*Grief and loss
*Young adult males
*Burnout and self-care
